POSITION: Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire and maintain skills in the fabrication of orthotics and prosthetics that meet or exceed Reach’s industry leading standards.
  • Effectively manage time to meet delivery deadlines. Reach sets itself apart by providing high quality products with very quick turn-around times
  • Continuously strive to create ideas and/or adhere to new processes for improving product quality and patient experience.
  • Work with raw materials (plastics, plaster, foam, metal) in the fabrication process.
  • Assemble and disassemble parts, components and devices.
  • Work with minimal supervision in a diverse lab environment.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate or equivalent required.  Completion of a trade school program desired.  Previous experience working with hands in a skill environment (automotive, stone work, wood work, metal work, etc.) also desired.  Excellent communication and team work skills required.

POSITION: Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistant

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the treatment of patients for a variety of pathologies.
  • Assist the Supervising Clinician in evaluation, design, fit, fabrication, repair, and collection of data for a variety of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Work under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Supervising Clinician
  • Assist in the development of treatment plans and outcome measures.
  • Work comfortably with an electronic patient record / work order system.
  • See patients in a variety of locations including Reach offices, hospitals, nursing facilities, patient homes, etc. Possess excellent communication and team work skills. Maintain a positive attitude and solid work ethic.
  • Provide patient and/or caregivers with instruction on use and care of devices. Order components as needed for devices provided.
  • Participate in compliance, performance improvement and marketing initiatives.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate or equivalent required.  ABC O&P Assistant Certification preferred.  Physical or Occupational Therapy Assistant desired.  Excellent communication and team work skills required.

POSITION: Office Administrator/ Mastectomy Fitter

We are seeking a motivated individual to immediately join our team as an Office Administrator/ Mastectomy Fitter. You will perform all administrative functions in order to drive company success.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent customer service and compassionate care to all customers, over the phone and in-person
  • Check patients in and out
  • Schedule appointments
  • Prepare paperwork required for medical billing and communicate Insurance benefits related to Mastectomy and Compression products
  • Collect and process cash and credit card payments
  • Answer inbound telephone calls
  • Perform all other office tasks

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in medical office administration or other related fields
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adapt to changing priorities and business needs
  • Flexible and not-easily flustered
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills

Applicant with a Mastectomy certification preferred but will train  and certify, this involves consultations, fitting of pre and post operative garments, prosthesis and wigs

We have a pleasant work environment, weekday hours from 8AM to 5PM, (Friday 8-2 ) paid Holidays and vacation, as well as medical and dental benefits, a 401K program and paid certification and continuing education. This position will begin as part-time mornings in Newport News and transition into full time at our Southside location. No phone calls, please.
