Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Coming to Newport News!

2016-12-01_1330_001
Reach OPS is proud to host the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team for a double header on Saturday, April 15, 2017.

The WWAST is comprised of competitive, athletic veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs. They travel the country playing able-bodied teams in competitive, celebrity and exhibition softball games, bringing their special brand of softball, courage and inspiration.

While here, the WWAST team will play a double header against teams made up from our local first responders.

The WWAST inspires and educates everyone who watches the games, including other amputees and anyone who has challenges to overcome. The events here will also raise funds for their amputee Kids Camp (a summer camp for children with amputations), provide rehabilitation equipment for military health facilities, and fund heterotopic ossification (HO) research.
